About the volunteering opportunity

We are looking for you as a volunteer mentor!

Many trainees in Berlin - especially in the healthcare sector - face major challenges: at school, at work or in everyday life. As a volunteer mentor, you will accompany a trainee personally in a 1:1 mentoring relationship - individually, trustingly and at eye level.

So that you are well prepared, you will receive
  • an introduction and qualification
  • regular supervision and further training
  • exchange with other mentors (regular get-togethers, volunteer events)
  • personal support from our team

Your Tasks

You accompany a trainee and provide support with, for example

  • Organizing learning and preparing for exams
  • Improving German language skills
  • Conflicts in the company or with authorities
  • personal challenges during the apprenticeship

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.
You bring with you:

  • Life experience - whether from work, training, studies or everyday life
  • Empathy, patience and openness
  • A desire to empower young people
  • 1-2 hours of time per week

Time required

Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
You organize the appointments in coordination with your mentee. You should meet approximately once a week for about 2 hours. If things are more stressful, you can also write or talk on the phone.
The great thing about this commitment is that you can organize it freely according to your needs!
