Temporary grandparents for children of single parents

We bring single parents together with volunteers (aged 60 and over). The volunteers receive training from us in family psychology, communication skills, and developmental psychology. 

On weekends or by arrangement during the week, you will also help look after the children of single parents. This is not just about “babysitting,” but about offering a stable relationship that helps the development of the children concerned (who are often disadvantaged).

We support you in finding a secure role as a temporary grandparent. You should have an interest in and love for children, as well as an interest in engaging with the parents and respecting their life situation and value system. We act as a point of contact if there are problems communicating with the family, and we also offer further training as needed on important topics such as parenting, developmental psychology, and more. 

This is a low-threshold offer to support people with children. Some time should be available (at least 2-3 hours per week).
