Volunteer translators for Russian and Georgian needed (ID: 214097)

The shared accommodation for refugees in Konrad-Wolf-Straße near the Hohenschönhausen sports forum is currently home to around 400 people. It is run by the Berlin regional association of the Volkssolidarität. A total of 19 full-time employees take care of administration, social services and childcare, among other things. However, volunteer support is also needed to enable the residents to integrate. Interested volunteers will find an international, friendly and committed team that cares about the residents. There is also a dedicated volunteer coordinator who can be contacted personally for all matters relating to volunteering, such as insurance, volunteer allowances or the exchange of ideas for projects.

We are looking for committed people who would like to volunteer as interpreters to provide direct support to refugees. Your commitment can make a decisive difference - be it in conversations with authorities, when visiting the doctor or simply in everyday life.

Our volunteering offers you the opportunity not only to use your language skills, but also to make new friends and gain a deeper insight into other cultures. The commitment is regular and involves less than 5 hours per week.
