About the volunteering opportunity
The AWO Refugium Hausvaterweg is a reception facility for adult refugees and their families. Up to 280 people can live in the accommodation spread over three floors. An experienced and qualified intercultural team of around 15 employees takes care of the residents' concerns and organizes life in the facility.
Your Tasks
Help build a bridge!
Would you like to spend your time in a meaningful way and make new friends? Would you like to help refugee children learn German and support them with their schoolwork? Then our volunteer project is just right for you!
What can you expect? In this exciting commitment, you will have the opportunity to work with children and young people from different cultures. Not only will you be working in a warm and supportive environment, but you will also be able to use your language skills in Arabic, German, English or Russian! Flexibility and creativity are required!
Whether you only have a few hours a week or regularly - we adapt to your possibilities! The meetings take place on weekdays by appointment, so you have the freedom to organize your participation flexibly.

It is a project-oriented and regular opportunity to help young people find their feet in a new environment and improve their language skills.
