About the volunteering opportunity
THE GOOD FOOD campaigns against food waste, for example by collecting vegetables from cooperating businesses. There are 3 locations in Cologne where rescued vegetables and goods that are past their best-before date but still taste good are sold in exchange for "pay what it's worth".

Your Tasks
- Helper who enjoys organizing and sorting goods in our warehouse (preferably on a weekly basis)
- Do you enjoy cycling and would like to support the food rescue service? Then join the team of cargo bike riders. The commitment is 2-3 hours per ride as a fixed weekly appointment. You don't need your own bike.
- Are you communicative? Then sales is the right place for you. :-) We need support for sales in Ehrenfeld and Sülz. The shifts are 4.5 hours and are assigned weekly or fortnightly.
- For the food rescue tours as a driver and helper. Would you like to be physically active? Are you physically resilient and responsible? Then the tours are just right for you and you'll get up close and personal with food rescue! The tours last 5 hours. We expect a minimum of two tours per month. The tours take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the mornings or afternoons.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Food Saving rescuers with and without driver's license, at least 18 years old, very resilient and responsible (Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, 5 hours, not necessarily weekly, but at least 2x per month)
- Cargo bike driver:In for picking up and transporting goods, reliable, responsible and independent (fixed days, 1x per week, approx. 2-3 hours)
- Store service in Ehrenfeld, communicative, interested in education on the subject of food waste, reliable and independent (if possible fixed days, 1x per week, Mon-Sat, 4 hours)
- Store service in Sülz, communicative, interested in raising awareness about food waste, reliable and independent (fixed days, 1x per week, Mon-Sun, 4 hours or 2 hours)

We make sure that food that has been sorted out but is still delicious ends up on your plate instead of in the garbage can. Every week, we rescue around 400 crates of fruit and vegetables and offer them, as well as goods that have passed their best-before date, on the "pay what it's worth" principle in our three stores in Cologne.
