About the volunteering opportunity
At the Neuwiedenthal district meeting point, we offer a low-threshold digitalization project that helps people to use digital devices more safely and independently. The aim of the project is to promote digital skills, reduce fear of contact and strengthen social participation.
The core of the project is a once-weekly digital course aimed at beginners and advanced users, which takes place on Wednesdays from 10:00 to 12:00 am. The course content is geared towards the questions and needs of the participants and is taught in a practical way.
In addition, there is the digital consultation hour, an open offer for individual concerns. Here, personal problems relating to smartphones, tablets or computers can be discussed and solutions worked out together.
Your Tasks
We are looking for a volunteer who is interested in digital topics and would like to pass on their knowledge. Previous knowledge is helpful, but not essential - what is important is openness, patience and a love of explaining things.
Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage:
- Android and Apple devices
- PC and tablets
- Basics of hardware and software
We would also like to see an interest in learning new things and developing together.

The German Red Cross in Hamburg-Harburg is a multifaceted charity with over 60 facilities, including 17 daycare centers, a hospice, the Harburg-Huus for the homeless and several refugee shelters. Around 450 volunteers are involved in areas such as disaster prevention, childcare, helping the homeless and integration projects.
