About the volunteering opportunity

By offering the language café, we want to give our residents the opportunity to improve their German language skills in order to become more confident in their social interactions.

Your Tasks

Once a week for approx. 1 to 1.5 hours, talk to the participants about everyday situations. The proportion of speaking should be approx. 90:10 for the learners. Listening, asking questions, repeating and improving are the tasks for you as a volunteer in our Language Café format.

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.
Patience, openness and humor. Be able to listen, ask questions and repeat answers. Situations can be made more relaxed with a little humor, because the German language has some wonderful idioms that are also important to know.

Once a week for approx. 1 to 1.5 hours. In the morning or early afternoon. This can be arranged individually. There is also the possibility to visit the language café in the WaMA neighborhood store in the Kosmosviertel to get new impulses.

Important notice

The people living in the facility are in a special life situation, and not just because they are homeless. It is therefore important to be able to adapt to different challenges and remain on an equal footing.
