The AWO Kreisverband Berlin-Mitte has been running the AWO Refugium Lichtenberg reception center since 2012. 370 people live here, a good half of whom are children.

The "Schule willkommen" project is looking for volunteer learning assistants for an initial reception center in Berlin Lichtenberg. We are aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 14 who have not yet started school and offer low-threshold activities on site where they can learn German through play. This could be a cooking group, handicrafts or a sports club, for example. You would be deployed in an accommodation for approx. 2 hours per week. We are happy if you bring your own ideas - you will definitely have the opportunity to help shape the program.
