A volunteering opportunity from Weitlingkiezkollektiv e.V. 

The Weitlingkiezkollektiv is a citizens' initiative and has been continuously involved in cultural life in the Weitlingkiez district of Lichtenberg since 2016. In this context, it regularly organizes the evening event at the Wir im Kiez festival and the flea market there. In the past, it has also organized reading stages and photo competitions. The current focus is on concert evenings and theater afternoons.

In 2026, the association can look back on ten years of voluntary cultural work in the neighborhood. The aim of our work is to make local culture accessible to all residents - regardless of age, origin or social situation - and to create spaces for encounters, exchange and democratic coexistence.
Our events are free of charge and deliberately low-threshold. They are aimed in particular at people who otherwise have little access to cultural events. With a diverse program, we address different target groups in the neighbourhood and thus strengthen social cohesion and mutual understanding.

You are interested in organizing events in the Weitlingkiez... from planning (which format, contacting the location, selecting artists, applying for funding, bar licenses, GEMA registration, distributing flyers... ), implementation (looking after the artists, buying food, serving at the bar or grill, making announcements for the audience,...) and follow-up (cleaning up, reporting to GEMA, accounting for subsidies,...)?
Then you've come to the right place, because we're looking for support!

Don't worry, nobody has to do everything here, but the more of us there are, the better we can distribute the work. We always meet on the second Sunday of the month from 5:30 pm to exchange ideas and work.
