About the volunteering opportunity
CORRECTIV.Faktenforum is the first German-language fact check community. Registered community members research possible false claims from social networks, videos, websites or blogs with the support of the CORRECTIV.Faktencheck editorial team. We publish the results on our website. CORRECTIV.Faktenforum also offers workshops and learning opportunities on fact checks, research methods and disinformation.

Your Tasks
At CORRECTIV.Faktenforum, you work with others to research false claims from social networks, videos, websites or blogs. You check sources, compare information and help to separate facts from false claims.
Your tasks may include
- Entering possible false claims
- Research and evaluate sources
- Checking figures, quotes and statements
- Support and guide community members in their research
- Classify and summarize results in an understandable way
You will work independently or in collaboration with the community. No previous knowledge is necessary - you will be introduced and can get involved depending on your interests and time. We regularly offer free workshops and learning content in which you can acquire relevant knowledge and skills relating to fact-checking and research. Your involvement helps to counter disinformation and support others in fact-checking.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.

The CORRECTIV.Faktenforum is the first German-language fact-checking community in which volunteers work together with journalists to research and classify possible false claims. They collect, check and document sources on a digital platform in order to categorize disinformation in an understandable way and make it publicly accessible.
