About the volunteering opportunity
Some of our primary school pupils find reading more difficult than others. To help them practise, we are looking for reading mentors to help individual children with their reading during lessons. Sometimes you read, sometimes your sponsored child reads - and together you open up the world of letters!
Your Tasks
We are looking for committed people who can help individual pupils in year 4 to read with patience and empathy. In consultation with the teacher, the aim is to read to each other in a quiet atmosphere.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
As a reading mentor, you should have a lot of patience and empathy for pupils with learning difficulties. Reliability and a sense of responsibility are also important.
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, during the day
Reading promotion takes place on Thursday or Friday mornings.
Important notice
An extended certificate of good conduct is required for volunteering at our schools. This can be requested from us free of charge when you start volunteering.
