About the volunteering opportunity
The coordination of donations involves answering all incoming questions about the books and media we accept, planning dates and tours for collecting books/media and responding to inquiries. As a volunteer, you will mainly support us on the phone answering questions from donors. It is important that you adhere to our guidelines.
If you feel very uncomfortable saying no, this task might not fit to you (but it's a good place to learn that!).
Time frame: You step in when no one from the team can. This can be once a month to several times a month, or even several times a week during vacation periods. That depends on your capacity. As the training is a bit more extensive, it would be good if you can offer at least 1 year to volunteer.
Bonus: You will be part of a very kind team :)

Berliner Büchertisch e.V.
Our vision: Reading should be affordable for everyone - independent from his or her age, salary, social status or origin. That’s why the Büchertisch as a non-profit association supports libraries in schools, kindergartens, prisons and many other institutions. We also work in different projects to help children to access books and reading materials.
Moreover we supply various stations for free books throughout Berlin. In creating jobs and apprenticeships for people from various social backgrounds – from former homeless people to young professionals – we try to give people new perspectives.
