About the volunteering opportunity
A senior citizen, born in 1936, has recently started living in our nursing home in Kreuzberg and would like visitors and the opportunity to converse in English. The lady was born in Berlin and lived in America for many years. Even though she describes herself as a loner, she would like to have an exchange and a change of pace in her everyday life.
Your Tasks
- Visits and conversations with an elderly lady
- if possible, walks or other leisure activities
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
You should enjoy working with older people and have empathy, be reliable, have at least 4-6 months time and possibly experience in handling a wheelchair. But above all, patience, empathy and an interest in people are important to us.
