About the volunteering opportunity
Every woman should be able to ride a bike! And should be allowed to. For us, cycling means being able to travel cheaply and in an environmentally friendly way, it's a joy of movement, it helps us explore our surroundings, it means freedom and independence. Not every woman has the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike. That's why we exist: with our experience and your commitment, we can get a woman on a bike in about 2 hours. If you can find large groups (10 or more participants), we can also support you personally on site.
Our training courses aim to teach as many women as possible how to ride a bike and prepare them to ride safely on the road. In addition, many women are isolated in their homes and feel discouraged. Joint activities can easily remedy this.

Don't spend too long creating Excel spreadsheets and timetables, because they take too long and are usually overtaken by reality.
And thus become a paper or desktop tiger. The best way to find out whether something works or not is to simply try it out.

We are looking for women to tell the world about us and spread the word (online and offline). We are also looking for women who would like to ask around and see who would like to learn, what cooperation partners there might be. We have the know-how and will show you how to do it. We also give you the basics/tutorials, multilingual traffic rules, explanatory videos and useful tricks.

Important notice
We are only looking for female helpers because we are a safe-women-space. Please come on time as not to miss the small introduction and be patient to endure the slight chaos at the beginning. If you don't know what to do, just ask who. Since we do driving safety exercises, a basic knowledge of traffic rules would be great, but not a must.

#BIKEYGEES e.V.
#BIKEYGEES e.V. offers free cycling lessons for (refugee) women and girls (aged 16 and over).
In addition to practical cycling training, we give traffic lessons in various languages and teach the basics of maintaining and repairing your own bike.
We started in September 2015 as a small empowerment project and have been recognized as a non-profit association for educational and integration work since May 2016. Our training courses create immediately visible and sustainable changes in the lives of the participants.

So far, we have got over 2,200 women/girls on bikes free of charge and handed over around 650 bike sets as donations. (as of Jan. 2026)
