About the volunteering opportunity

Simply help - make a big difference

Malteser Transitional Assistance supports people with a care degree and their families in everyday life when

- independent care is temporarily restricted or no longer possible at all
- a carer or relative falls ill
- care is no longer available
- life situations change at short notice

To enable us to help people in these emergency situations, we are looking for committed volunteers of all ages in all districts of Berlin who are willing to take on short-term and temporary assignments.

As communication plays a central role, especially with older people in need of care - be it in conversation, in understanding needs or in dealing with sensitive situations - a good to very good knowledge of German is a great advantage.

Just a little time, a sympathetic ear or a little practical help and support in everyday life can make a big difference. If you enjoy giving time and providing individual support to those in need of care, we would be delighted to have your support.

The assignments can be arranged very flexibly. The duration and activity of the assignments are based on the individual requests of those in need of care.
A one-off purchase may be necessary, but sometimes a weekly assignment over the next three months is also required.

Important notice

In order to volunteer with us, helpers need
- an extended certificate of good conduct
