About the volunteering opportunity
SCHLAU is a voluntary educational and anti-discrimination project on gender identities and sexual orientations. The educational work is carried out by committed and qualified volunteers who are themselves lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter*, non-binary or queer.
SCHLAU-MG offers schools, youth centers and other educational institutions the opportunity to make an important contribution to active acceptance work and effective violence prevention.
Using pedagogical methods and evaluated concepts, the teamers introduce the topics in a low-threshold and unagitated manner. They talk about life realities and biographies, their own coming out, experiences of discrimination as well as prejudices and role models. The SCHLAU workshops are indispensable, especially in the context of the "School of Diversity" seal.
Your Tasks
Support for and later implementation of workshops together with other teamers.
Volunteers can contribute to the development of workshop concepts and receive start-up training via SCHLAU NRW as well as further specialist training if required.

On weekdays, during the day
The workshops take place at Regal in the mornings during the week, as we are usually out and about at schools. Occasionally, high-profile events such as CSDs or youth festivals take place at weekends.
Important notice
If you are generally interested but still have questions, please get in touch. During an initial introductory meeting, questions can be clarified and an individual look can be taken at how the commitment can look in concrete terms.
