About the volunteering opportunity
HerzCaspar pursues the vision that young people and their relatives should also experience lightness, courage and solidarity in times of serious illness.
A stay in hospital can be very stressful and often lonely for children, adolescents and young adults. Through the regular visits of our volunteer buddies, we create spaces for exchange, joy and short breaks from everyday hospital life.
It is particularly important to us to enable encounters at eye level: Our buddies are young adults themselves - this creates real connections that strengthen and encourage.
Your Tasks
As a HerzCaspar Buddy, you regularly spend time with young patients in hospital.
What you do is very different:
You play, do handicrafts, talk, listen or simply spend time together. The meetings are always based on the needs and wishes of the patients.

You are part of a team and are supported in your commitment - so you don't have to be able to do anything, you just have to want to get involved.
With just a few hours a month, you can make a real difference to patients' everyday lives.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
To become a HerzCaspar Buddy, you must be between 18 and 32 years old and have completed our training program beforehand. We will support you every step of the way and prepare you optimally for your work as a Buddy!

- If it's a match, you can apply directly online
- We will contact you as soon as a suitable position becomes available
- You will receive access to our digital training and take part in a workshop & introductory evening
You will then start your first visit together with your team 💛
