About the volunteering opportunity
we are looking for a dedicated volunteer to keep a 90-year-old resident in our care home company and spend time with him on a regular basis. Your commitment can make a major contribution to this resident's quality of life by providing him with company, exercise and enjoyment in everyday life.
Your Tasks
- Regular walks in the garden or in the surrounding area (e.g. Plänterwald)
- Keep him company and make him happy with your presence.
- Have conversations or non-verbal interaction and company that is tailored to his needs.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Empathy and patience in dealing with older people
- An open ear
- Enjoy going for walks and helping to organize
- Reliability and dependability to offer the resident continuity and security
- Enjoy interacting with older people and an interest in regular visits
