About the volunteering opportunity
for the Girls Hub Festival 2026 by Safe-Hub Berlin, we are looking for committed volunteers to support us with a special community event for girls and young people in Berlin Wedding. The festival combines soccer, empowerment, creative hands-on activities and community building. Together, we create a safe and inspiring space in which girls can become visible, strengthen their self-confidence and experience community. Support can be provided, for example, with game stations, tournament organization, creative activities, set-up and dismantling or accompanying children and young people.
Your Tasks
Volunteers support us in organizing the Girls Hub Festival and take on various tasks depending on their interests and needs. These include, for example, supervising play and hands-on stations, supporting soccer tournaments and workshops, accompanying children and young people, helping with set-up and dismantling and providing general support during the event. Together, we ensure a positive, safe and empowering atmosphere for all participants.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
No special prior knowledge is required for this commitment. The most important things are openness, reliability and enjoyment of working with children and young people. As the festival focuses on girls' empowerment, community and sport, we welcome people who are respectful, team-oriented and attentive in their dealings with young people. Experience in the social sector, in working with children/young people, in sport or at events is welcome, but not a prerequisite.
Time required
Once
On weekends, during the day
The event is expected to take place from 15-20:30, of which the first 3 hours will include the tournament. A public viewing of the women's Champions League final will take place from 6-8pm.
Important notice
We want to create a safe, respectful and inclusive atmosphere for all participants at the festival. We therefore want everyone to treat each other with respect and be open to different backgrounds and realities. All volunteers will receive a brief introduction on site and contact persons from the Safe Hub team will be available at all times. Comfortable clothing and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended, as a large part of the festival takes place outside on the soccer pitch
