Supervision for pupils in the STEM field at the Wedding School Research Center

At the Bildungs- und Forschungszentrum Berlin e.V. (BFZ), we have set ourselves the goal of getting schoolchildren excited about science and technology. We offer them the opportunity to carry out their own research projects outside of school, for example as part of Jugend forscht or other competitions. For this purpose, we provide our students with modern technology in our premises at the Georg-Schlesinger-Schule (near Osloer Straße) and offer courses such as 3D printing, electronics courses, wood construction or robotics (Lego Mindstorms / Spike).

We are looking for a volunteer who would like to support us on Friday afternoons (approx. 15:30 to 18:30) to supervise the pupils (approx. 10-18 years) (except during the Berlin school vacations). Preferably with a background in natural sciences (candidates for a teaching degree, pensioners, other interested parties)

- Supervision of the pupils on our research afternoons
-if interested, you are welcome to help design the project afternoons and contribute your own topics

- Enjoy supervising and supporting pupils
- Generally good technical and scientific understanding
- Ideally studies in the STEM field (e.g. engineering, computer science) or a teaching degree / subject didactics or good manual skills (work in a wood workshop)

Research afternoon every Friday (15:30h to 18:30h) except during the Berlin school vacations, possibly also possible every 14 days

- Time frame is negotiable, but reliability is very important
- Due to work with children and adolescents, a police clearance certificate is required (free of charge with a letter from us)
