About the volunteering opportunity

A Hertha fan from our residential facility for people with cognitive impairments is looking for a soccer enthusiast to accompany him from Treptow to the Olympic Stadium once or twice a month starting in September and bring him home safely. A season ticket is available and the companion can go to the stadium free of charge.

Our resident is in his mid-30s, mobile, cognitively impaired "Down syndrome" and can communicate well, but only in a whisper.

Your Tasks

  • Pick-up at the residential facility in Treptow and joint trip to the Olympic Stadium
  • enjoying the game together
  • Joint return journey to the residential facility

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
  • Empathy and patience in dealing with people with disabilities
  • Enjoyment of soccer
  • Reliability and dependability to offer the resident continuity and security
