About the volunteering opportunity
Many residents in our accommodation are looking for their own place to live - a challenge that many Berliners face - and need support in finding accommodation and navigating the application process from volunteers who are familiar with the circumstances and processes in Germany and can also provide them with language support in this context.
Your Tasks
- Support in the search for suitable living space
- Collection and preparation of the necessary documents for the application process
- Help with filling out applications and forms
- Accompaniment to apartment viewings

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.

The time frame depends on the needs of the people to be supported and the capacities of those involved.
Important notice
Committed people can get involved as part of an open "drop-in hour" or support a single person/family in their search. Both will initially take place at the accommodation, but can be organized independently of location in the long term.

AE/GU Invalidenstraße
Reception center and shared accommodation for refugees in Berlin Mitte, operated by the LfG-B. Around 250 people live in the AE and GU, including many children and families.
