About the volunteering opportunity
The Everyday Support Program (AUA for short) offers in-home care services for people with dementia. This can be provided once or twice a week for a few hours.
Your Tasks
During this time, you can play games or cook together. You can also spend your time together doing creative activities or simple memory exercises. If you’re musical, you can incorporate that as well, depending on your interests.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Before you begin your volunteer work, you will, of course, receive comprehensive training. In addition to a first-aid course, the training will cover learning about dementia and developing communication strategies for interacting with both the person with dementia and their family and friends.

Important notice
Please note that reliability is extremely important when working with people with dementia. Therefore, please only apply if you are able to commit to this on a consistent basis. Of course, you will have plenty of time to learn about the volunteer position in advance to determine whether this commitment is a good fit for you.
