About the volunteering opportunity
Accompanying seniors in a nursing home—on walks, outings, and doctor’s visits. Your time brings a sense of belonging and joy to their lives.
At the Caroline-Rheineck-Haus, it’s often the little moments that enrich the residents’ daily lives—playing a game together, listening to a chapter being read aloud, or simply having someone there to listen. Accompanying residents outside the facility on walks, outings, or doctor’s visits is especially popular. After all, even those who live in a nursing home should be able to participate in life outside the facility—with familiar faces by their side.
Your Tasks
As a dedicated staff member, you’ll help shape these very moments:
- Playing, reading aloud, and creating together—creative and social hours with the residents
- Music, conversations, and small joys in everyday life—fostering a sense of connection and a zest for life
- Your own ideas & group activities—share your talents and interests
- Accompanying residents on walks and outings—exploring the world outside together
- Daily support & assistance with doctor’s visits – reliable help with everyday tasks

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.
This is an opportunity for anyone who enjoys spending time with older adults, is a good listener, and finds joy in giving back. Whether on a regular or occasional basis, every helping hand and every open heart is welcome. Together with you, we’ll find the right way for you to get involved.

Daily from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. — We'll work with you to coordinate suitable times and find a schedule that works for you.
Important notice
All volunteers must provide an extended criminal background check to protect our residents before beginning their volunteer work. During the introductory interview, interested individuals will receive a form for the registration office that waives the fee. The criminal background check can then be used for other purposes.
