About the volunteering opportunity
Ae you passionate about classical music and looking for a meaningful way to contribute beyond the concert stage?
The Neues Kammerorchester Berlin (NKB) e.V. is one of Berlin's most diverse and international orchestral communities. Founded in 2023, our mission extends far beyond performing concerts. We support female conductors and leadership in music, promote young musicians, champion gender equality, increase access to classical music, and create opportunities for underrepresented composers and artists. Our orchestra brings together musicians from all over the world, with approximately 95% of our members coming from international backgrounds.
As we continue to grow, we are building a dedicated volunteer team to help develop exciting new projects and strengthen our impact across Berlin's cultural landscape.
We are particularly looking for German-English bilingual volunteers who are organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about classical music and community-building.

Time required
Regularly
Discussed individually
The role offers a high degree of flexibility, provided agreed tasks are completed within the required timeframes. Volunteers can generally organise their work around their own schedules.
There is also the opportunity (entirely optional) to participate in some of the orchestra's musical and social activities. Most rehearsals, concerts, and events take place outside standard working hours.
As we work in a live performance environment, occasional communication outside regular working hours may be required. For example, volunteers may need to help coordinate last-minute changes, follow up with musicians, or assist when unexpected situations arise before rehearsals or concerts.
