About the volunteering opportunity
Recharge their batteries so they can be there for their sick child.
Our FAMILY HOUSE is a temporary home for families of seriously ill children who are being treated in all departments of the University Hospital of Bonn. Here, families find a place of respite in a peaceful atmosphere, with compassionate care and additional services—all within close proximity to their seriously ill child.
The FAMILY HOUSE features 42 rooms, spacious common areas, a kitchen for parents, creative and activity rooms, and a large garden. It’s a place to take a deep breath and recharge. After all, caring for a sick child always places a significant physical and emotional strain on family members.

Your Tasks
At FAMILIENHAUS, volunteers are often exactly what families need at that moment: a listening ear, a helping hand, or simply a moment of relief.
They bake a cake when families are running low on energy. They prepare a heartfelt breakfast when the daily grind becomes too much. They help with housework and chores, lend a hand at events, and create meaningful connections that do everyone good.
Through their dedication, they bring warmth to a daily life marked by worries—and give families the feeling of being seen and supported.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
