Not every wish needs words to be heard—Confidential Advisor in a shared living community for seniors

There are wishes that are spoken aloud. And there are wishes that are expressed only through a glance, a smile, or a familiar gesture. People with dementia, in particular, don’t always find the right words. This makes it all the more important to have someone who takes the time to look closely and listen attentively.

We’re looking for a volunteer mentor for our shared living community in the Märkisches Viertel. Not to provide care, but to get to know people, help relationships grow, and advocate for their interests with warmth and empathy.

Maybe it all starts with a cup of coffee or a conversation about the past. Maybe a connection forms while we’re chopping vegetables together, going for a walk, or celebrating a special occasion. You don’t have to be there for everyone. Often, trust is built first between just two people—and that’s exactly where your role begins. No special prior knowledge is required. Just time, empathy, and the willingness to make someone feel: “I see you.”

I'd be happy to work 4–8 hours a month.
