About the volunteering opportunity
Help us make rugby accessible to everyone. As a Wheelchair Rugby Development Volunteer, you will support the Wild Boars Rugby Club e.V. in developing an inclusive wheelchair rugby programme. Working alongside the club, community partners and disability organisations, you will help lay the foundations for a welcoming environment where people with disabilities can participate in sport, build confidence and become part of our rugby community.
No previous wheelchair rugby experience is required—passion for inclusion, teamwork and community development is what matters most.
Your Tasks
As a Wheelchair Rugby Development Volunteer, you may support the club with:
- Assisting in the planning and development of a wheelchair rugby programme
- Building relationships with disability organisations, rehabilitation centres and community partners
- Supporting the organisation of inclusive training sessions and introductory events
- Helping recruit participants, volunteers and coaches
- Assisting with funding applications and partnership opportunities for inclusive sport
- Supporting the promotion of wheelchair rugby through social media and community outreach
- Helping identify suitable venues and accessible facilities
- Assisting with equipment planning and logistics
- Contributing ideas to ensure the programme is inclusive, welcoming and sustainable
- Supporting the long-term development of inclusive sport within the Wild Boars Rugby Club e.V.
This is an exciting opportunity to help establish one of the club’s future flagship inclusion projects and make a meaningful contribution to equal access to sport in Berlin.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Essential
- Passion for inclusion, accessibility and community development
- Interest in sport and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliability and a willingness to take initiative
- Openness to learning about wheelchair rugby and adaptive sports
- Good organizational skills
- English and/or German language skills
Desirable (not required)
- Experience in disability inclusion or adaptive sports
- Experience working with community organisations or volunteers
- Project management or event planning experience
- Fundraising or partnership development experience
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive practices
- Experience in coaching, sport administration or club development

Flexible and ongoing. This is a long-term volunteer opportunity with no fixed schedule. Volunteers can support the project according to their availability. Meetings, planning sessions and community outreach will be arranged collaboratively, while future training sessions are expected to take place on weekday evenings and occasional weekends.
