About the volunteering opportunity
Our vision: Everyone should be able to afford to read!
Why do we do what we do? Because we love books and want them to bring joy to as many people as possible. Because we believe in the principle of sharing and find sustainable reading more meaningful than constantly buying new books. Because reading opens up new worlds, and we want to give children the opportunity to discover them. Because we care deeply about a spirit of solidarity that offers everyone meaningful employment opportunities.
We fund our operations solely through the sale of a portion of the books and media we receive as donations.

Your Tasks
You’ll pack donation boxes with books and, if applicable, other media for daycare centers, schools, or other nonprofit organizations. Do you love books and literature? Maybe you’re even very knowledgeable about children’s and young adult literature and have time to stop by for a few hours on a regular basis? Then feel free to get in touch with us!

Our vision: Reading should be affordable for everyone - independent from his or her age, salary, social status or origin. That’s why the Büchertisch as a non-profit association supports libraries in schools, kindergartens, prisons and many other institutions. We also work in different projects to help children to access books and reading materials.
Moreover we supply various stations for free books throughout Berlin. In creating jobs and apprenticeships for people from various social backgrounds – from former homeless people to young professionals – we try to give people new perspectives.
