About the volunteering opportunity
Sprachmut is a volunteer-run community in Freiburg that helps German learners—both those with and without a migration background—gain the confidence to speak German through free game nights, language cafés, Küfas, and social gatherings. We’ve already reached over 100 people this way, and the community continues to grow steadily.
To help even more people find their way to us and feel at home here, we’re looking for behind-the-scenes support: people who are interested in community work, public relations, or marketing. You don’t have to attend the events in person—much of the work can be done flexibly from home.
Your Tasks
Depending on what you enjoy and what skills you bring to the table, there are various options:
Community Management: Welcome and reach out to new members, announce events in the WhatsApp community, share photos with participants, and maintain contact with the community.
Public Relations and Marketing: Create social media posts, promote our free offerings in online groups and forums, design flyers, or establish contacts with other organizations and universities.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
Prior experience is helpful, but not required. What's more important is reliability and a passion for building something.

The time commitment is flexible; even just one or two hours a week can make a difference. Of course, anyone who’d like to is welcome to stop by our events at any time and get to know the community in person.

Weekly events—such as game nights, language cafés, KüFas, and other social gatherings—focus on casual conversation without any pressure.
