Social Day - Moss Removal in the "Schwanheimer Düne" Nature Reserve (Event for Companies)

In the Schwanheimer Dune, layers of moss are increasingly accumulating on the open sandy areas, overgrowing the open spaces and forming humus. This is altering the character of the nature reserve and is undesirable.
The plan is to mechanically remove the moss and transport it out of the Schwanheimer Dune.

This is a project in cooperation with HessenForst.

Using our tractor and rake, we'll lift the moss and toss it to the side.

Removal & Loading

The participants will then rake up the removed layer of moss, transport it under tarps to the trailer, and load it onto the trailer. 
Afterward, we’ll drive off with the tractor-trailer combination and transfer the load to a waiting dump truck.

Fun and a desire to get hands-on with nature conservation.

All you need are sturdy shoes and long pants—we'll be out in nature!
We’ll provide the tools.
