Support with bureaucratic tasks and advice on the German administrative system for newcomers

We are looking for  open-minded and reliable people to help with filling out forms, problems with the office and making appointments with Jobcenter, lawyer and co. 

Once  a week we offer a one-hour support for all kinds of bureaucratic problems, which is especially needed by non-native speakers of German. 

Your Tasks

Volunteers should support people with concrete bureaucratic problems, provide assistance with the German administrative system, help with filling out forms (Jobcenter, Bafög, etc.) and translate legal German into a language that is understandable for non-native speakers. 

The aim is not to solve concrete legal issues, but to provide initial help. If a lawyer is needed, a referral to a suitable person can be made. 

What's needed

Voraussetzung ist vor allem eine große Motivation zu helfen. 

Hilfreich sind Erfahrungen mit Formularen, Anträgen beim Jobcenter, Bafög. etc., Perfekt wäre eine (begonnene) juristische Ausbildung, aber dies ist nicht zwingend nötig. Englischkenntnisse sollten vorhanden sein. Weitere Fremdsprachen wie z.B. Arabisch wären toll aber keine Vorraussetzung.

Die Termine liegen  am Donnerstag Nachmittag.von 15.00-16.00 Uhr. Nach Bedarf kann dies aber angepasst werden. 

The SoliNaR (Solidary Neighbours of Solidarity in the Richardkiez) is a place for mutual activities, a space for encountering and exchanging. Our intercultural cooking croup, city tours, a langue café and different art, music, theatre and literature workshops afford the opportunity to come together and get to know each other. We want to support creative potential talents in the neighbourhood of Richardkiez, give the chance to participate in city development and culture and promote solidarity in our neighbourhood. The SoliNaR is open for everyone, whether with or without migratory background, refugee or recently immigrated families, single mothers and fathers or seniors. Together we want to create a vivid place, which is fully accessible to everyone, in the Richardkiez.
