We’re looking for open-minded and warm-hearted people who enjoy interacting with others and would like to get involved in our café in a flexible way. Whether it’s serving customers, working in the kitchen, or chatting with our guests —you can contribute your interests and skills here. No prior experience is required—what matters to us is your time, openness, and a love of working with others.

Your Responsibilities with Us

You’ll support our café in whatever role makes you feel comfortable: serving our guests, helping out with simple tasks in the kitchen, or taking the time to chat and connect with people. Together, we’ll make sure our guests feel welcome and at home.

What You Should Bring to the Table

You don’t need any special prior knowledge or qualifications to volunteer with us. What matters most to us are openness, reliability, discretion, and treating our guests with respect and without prejudice.

You should enjoy meeting different kinds of people, be a good listener, and have a bit of empathy. For roles in hospitality and the kitchen, a team spirit and a willingness to pitch in are also required.

You’ll learn everything else on the job— we’ll support you during your first shifts.

When can you volunteer?

Your involvement with us is flexible and involves no fixed commitment. You can use an online schedule to sign up on your own for the dates when you’re available.

The café is usually open on Mondays and Thursdays. Shifts start at 5:00 p.m. and end around 8:15 p.m. You can find the exact café dates and opening hours at any time in our monthly schedule at wohl-tun.de/monatsplan/.

Is there anything else to keep in mind?

Your involvement with us can be flexibly arranged. There are no fixed weekly commitments—you simply sign up via our online schedule for the dates when you’re available.

Before your first shift, you’re welcome to get to know our café and the team during a trial session. During your first few shifts, you’ll be accompanied by experienced team members.

Since we work with people in diverse and sometimes difficult life situations, respectful interaction, discretion, and respecting personal boundaries are particularly important to us.
