About the volunteering opportunity
Spend time together and enjoy the outdoors!
An 82-year-old man with dementia is looking for a reliable companion to join him on a weekly walk in the Britzer Garten. The garden is within walking distance of his apartment in Mariendorf. Afterward, over coffee and a slice of cake, there will be time for conversation and a cozy get-together.
We’re looking for an empathetic, patient, and reliable person with very good German language skills who enjoys interacting with older adults. Experience with dementia is helpful but not required.
An expense allowance of €25 per month is provided for this role. We also offer free training on dementia to help you feel more confident in dealing with the condition.

Your Tasks
- Weekly accompaniment on a walk in Britzer Garten
- Helping with orientation and engaging in simple conversation
- Organizing a break together with coffee and cake
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
- Reliability, patience, and empathy
- Enjoyment of spending time with older adults and, ideally, experience with dementia
- Very good knowledge of German
- Enough time to commit to regular volunteer work
