Education and Advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Rights and Health

We are pro familia in action—pia for short. We are a group of people who want to address sexual and reproductive rights and health through participation and action. The network’s goal is to provide a platform where people can exchange ideas, connect, and shape the future together from a queer-feminist, anti-racist, and culturally critical perspective. 

pia uses social media and campaigns to raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and to reach young people. As a volunteer, you can get involved in the following, for example:*

You don't need any specific training or prior experience—what's important to us is that you identify with our mission statement and are eager to get involved. Everyone is welcome to join us! 

We meet about every two weeks on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at the Pro Familia Counselling Centre. Attendance at these meetings isn’t mandatory—just come whenever it works for you.

For upcoming events, we’ll discuss individually who has how much time available and how they can contribute. This means you can easily tailor your involvement to fit your own schedule.

For pia – pro familia in action, a queer-feminist, anti-racist, and culturally critical perspective is essential, grounded in emancipatory sex education. For pia, feminism means demanding equality for all genders* within social, political, and economic structures. pia understands feminism as an intersectional approach that, in addition to gender*, also incorporates other forms of discrimination—such as racism, classism, homophobia, transphobia, and ableism—and rejects all forms of discrimination. It is also important to pia’s members to deconstruct binary thinking in society and government, to expose hetero- and cisnormative ways of thinking, and to work against them. pia values respectful interaction on an equal footing.
