About the volunteering opportunity
Have you ever dreamed of immersing yourself in the wonderful life at an animal sanctuary? Here, you’ll find current opportunities to experience the privilege of living with and for animals in a harmonious community. Our days are shaped by our love for the animals, caring for them, and adapting our daily routines to their needs. An internship with us therefore means not only getting to know the animals, but also actively taking on responsibility and gaining a genuine insight into our daily life at the sanctuary.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
To work at our animal sanctuary, you should be physically fit.
Time required
Once
For an internship, you should plan on staying for at least 14 days so you can make a meaningful contribution. Our daily routine is tailored to the needs of our animals. We usually start at 8:00 a.m. with the morning feeding. Breakfast break is from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and lunch break is from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening care wraps up around 7:00 p.m.
Important notice
We are a vegan, animal-friendly sanctuary. You don't necessarily have to be vegan, but you should have an open mind and be willing to adapt while you're staying at the sanctuary. We do not allow animal products on our property.

The Heile Seele e.V. Animal Shelter is a nonprofit animal welfare project that currently provides a safe and dignified home for approximately 250 animals. Our sanctuary is located in the idyllic Southern Harz region, in the spa town of Bad Sachsa. On just under 7 hectares of land, founder Ann-Christin Pabst lives alongside 250 animals of various species. In addition to horses, cats, and dogs, the sanctuary is also home to cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats. Geese, ducks, turkeys, and chickens have also found a home here. The sanctuary has become a place of peace and healing for both people and animals.
