Getting Creative Together: Embroidery, Textile Art, and More for Women

A refugee accommodation center is looking for a creative woman who would like to work with the residents to design a special eye-catching piece for the women’s room.

Together, they can create, for example, an embroidered tablecloth, a decorative wall hanging, or other creative textile artworks. Knowledge of various embroidery techniques—such as Afghan or Palestinian embroidery—is especially welcome.

Other creative ideas are also very welcome! The focus is on creating together, sharing ideas, and having a good time with one another.

As a volunteer, you would work with the residents of the shelter to develop and carry out a creative project.

You can contribute your knowledge and experience in embroidery or other creative techniques, support the women as they experiment, and work with them to create a beautiful piece of art for the women’s room.

Knowledge of various embroidery techniques, particularly Afghan or Palestinian embroidery, is especially welcome. Experience with other forms of textile art or creative ideas is also welcome.

The activity can find place Monday through Thursday between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
