About the volunteering opportunity
We’re looking for you to serve as a volunteer liaison for a residential care community in Reinickendorf.
People with Turkish roots also live here. Due to the effects of dementia, some of them now speak significantly less German and are able to express themselves much better in their native language.

Your Tasks
Do you speak Turkish, enjoy listening, and want to help people reconnect with their neighborhood? Then we might be a good fit.
Maybe you’ll go for coffee with a resident, chat about the old days, take a walk, or figure out together what might bring joy to the neighborhood. Above all, it’s about giving your time, listening, and building connections.

What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
You don't need any nursing or technical training for this. What's important to us is an open mind, patience, and a genuine interest in people.

The Vertrauensstelle is the central point of contact in Berlin for anyone who would like information about becoming a "Vertrauensperson" (a trustworthy person with good listening and communication skills) in a residential care community or who would like to become a "Vertrauensperson".
