About the volunteering opportunity

Sometimes people need help. The Bahnhofsmission supports people in crisis situations - regardless of gender, age, religious denomination, nationality and social status. They advise, mediate and offer travel assistance for people who need support.

Your Tasks

Volunteering for other people has been the basis of the Bahnhofsmission from the very beginning.

We are looking for committed people to volunteer at the Bahnhofsmission for at least six hours a week.

The tasks of the station mission are very complex.

What's needed

Volunteers must be native German speakers.
  • Age (at least) 18 years
  • extended certificate of good conduct required
  • Participation in an information event where you will learn everything you need to know about working at the station mission
  • Willingness to undergo further training
  • good knowledge of German

Time required

Regularly

  • long-term volunteer work for at least one year
  • at least 2x 6 hours per month
  • but at least six hours a week is recommended

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
