Math Tutoring (363428)

We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to provide math tutoring to young people ages 17 to 24. These young people come from a variety of educational backgrounds and need help understanding basic math concepts, completing homework, and preparing for exams.

The volunteers help the teens with their studies and teach them the basics of math. This includes working on homework together, explaining and practicing math concepts, and preparing for exams. The volunteers can address the teens’ questions and learning needs on an individual basis and help them gain more confidence in math.

Strong math skills, a passion for teaching, patience, and empathy. Experience in tutoring is a plus, but not required. Reliability and a willingness to adapt to different academic backgrounds and individual learning needs are also important.

The schedule will be determined by mutual agreement. Ideally, tutoring sessions should take place on a regular basis to ensure continuous support and sustained learning progress.

The young people come from diverse educational backgrounds and have varying learning needs. Therefore, it is especially important to interact with them in a patient, respectful, and motivating manner. The support is intended to help the young people better understand mathematical concepts, fill gaps in their knowledge, and develop greater self-confidence for school and vocational training. The program takes place in Lichtenberg.
