About the volunteering opportunity

Many people rely on collecting returnable bottles to supplement their income. To do so, they often have to reach deep into trash cans, which is unpleasant, unhygienic, and sometimes even dangerous. If you place your returnable bottles next to the trash can, you’ll spare them that hassle and show them some respect at the same time.

Your Tasks

  • Don't throw empty returnable bottles or cans in the trash while you're out and about; instead, place them next to the trash can where they're clearly visible.
  • Make sure they’re stable so no one trips over them.
  • If there’s a return ring or a return bin next to the trash can, use it.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
You don't need any special qualifications to get involved, just an empty returnable bottle and a moment of your attention.

Important notice

It's best to place glass bottles upright and not on sidewalks or bike paths; that way, they'll stay intact and no one will get hurt by broken glass.

Location

This project is location independent.

We are a social enterprise from Berlin with a big dream: We want a world in which everyone contributes to a better and more sustainable future according to their possibilities and regardless of time budget, language or previous knowledge. For this purpose, we gather on vostel.de numerous engagement offers from non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers. By doing this, we show concrete possibilities for action in order to become socially active and would like to motivate above all the younger generations to get involved for a better world.
