About the volunteering opportunity
Learning mentors support immigrant students in elementary and middle schools, particularly in improving their German language skills. By reading and learning together, learning mentors help foster children’s love of reading, build their self-confidence, improve their educational opportunities, and promote greater equality of opportunity.
Your Tasks
In one-on-one sessions, they help the schoolchildren practice reading, writing, and speaking.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Interested in reading and learning with children? The teachers provide the exercises, so no special prior knowledge or experience is necessary.
Time required
Regularly
Approx. 2 hours per week.
On weekdays, during the day
The volunteers study with the children at school. The schedule is arranged on an individual basis, depending on availability.
