About the volunteering opportunity
A hedgehog by the side of the road, a bird with a injured wing: When you find an injured wild animal, you often don’t know who to call. In moments like these, every minute counts. If you already have the right number saved in your cell phone, you can react immediately and get help for the animal quickly.
Your Tasks
- Search online for a wildlife rescue organization or wildlife shelter near you.
- Save the number in your cell phone, for example under “Wildlife Rescue.”
- It’s also a good idea to save the number of an emergency veterinary clinic in your area.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.
You don't need any special qualifications for this opportunity—just your cell phone and a little research.
Time required
Once
In just 5 minutes, you'll be ready for an emergency.
Important notice
Not every young animal that appears to be alone needs help. Often, its parents are nearby. If in doubt, call the wildlife rescue service first and ask before taking an animal with you. In the event of a collision with larger animals such as deer or wild boars, notify the police.
Location
