Helping evening at queer organisation

We are a completely voluntary association and depend on people donating their time and supporting us. For this reason, we are organizing this get-to-know-you evening. If you are ready to volunteer with us, come by the Helping Evening at the AHA. We will show you what is possible (What does the AHA do? Where can you support us?) and what you can achieve. After getting to know each other and clarifying questions, we will also directly do some volunteering and maintain the AHA.

Your Tasks

To get an overview of the many opportunities where you can volunteer, just come to the "Taster evening". A visit obliges to nothing, but gives an insight. 

The areas of activity range from counter and technology (light, image, sound) on event support (eg.B. Photos), -support (eg stage-hand) and -organization (eg scheduling) to garden design and digital graphics editing (eg for flyers).

In the AHA everything works completely voluntary, but nevertheless there are no obligations for minimum hours or the like. Everyone gives as much time as they want. The most important thing is not to lose the fun in the process! And of course you are not thrown in at the deep end. Experienced volunteers will train you for all activities and, for example, you will never be alone at the bar in the AHA

What's needed

Depending on the tasks you can and like to support in, skills can help, but the tasks also adapt to the people doing them :)

What to bring

Bring yourself and gladly a few friends, which would like to volunteer themselves. A good mood won't hurt either and feel free to bring your questions.

Important notice

Please note that our rooms are unfortunately not barrier-free. We have a wheelie ramp for the entrance, but no compatible WCs, for example. We are sorry.

The AHA is a non-commercial, completely voluntary association, which offers space for groups and events and a meeting point for queer people. With over 45 years of experience, the AHA is one of the oldest continuously active LGBTIQ+ associations in Berlin.
