About the volunteering opportunity

The project coordinates international exchange programs.

As a volunteer supervisor, you are in contact with a host family right from the start. Ideally, you will even make the first visit to the family and get to know your protégé's future home. As soon as he/she has arrived, you will be in regular contact with the host child and their family.

For example, you can talk to him/her on the phone or write to him/her by e-mail. Of course, it's best if you visit your host student and his/her new family or show the student a bit of your region/city on excursions.

Your Tasks

As a volunteer tutor, you can help when your host student and their family are facing a challenge. Perhaps your protégé needs a little help getting started with finding a hobby in Germany. Or there are a few communication difficulties with the host family because their German is not yet so good. You can help in these situations. If there are any major difficulties to overcome, you can always get support from our intercultural counseling team and other experienced counselors. We are always on hand with help and advice and stay in close contact.

All our supervisors receive training at a seminar lasting several days, which takes place in Cologne every fall. The costs are of course borne by us. It is also possible to look after a host family as part of a team! For example, you can take care of a host family together with an experienced caregiver.

All trips to the host family can be settled with us.
