What's needed
- Age (at least) 18 years
- extended certificate of good conduct required (for grief counseling)
- Volunteering only possible after a qualified preparatory course (approx. 80 hours of instruction)
- in addition to German, all other languages are welcome
- Tolerance for other, individual life plans
- Willingness to work in a group and to self-reflect
Time required
- Hospice work: 2-3 hours once a week
- Bereavement counseling: on average 1-2 hours per week during an ongoing accompaniment

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
