About the volunteering opportunity

FIELD OF ACTIVITY: Support of the festival team, responsibility for people and technology, organization of the international cinema cabaret (practical film workshop), documentation, co-moderation of monthly cinema evenings

Here is the DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT 

Your Tasks

Preparation of the event in a small team -- finding topics, PR, website support, social media marketing, newsletters, photography at our events, finding and arranging sponsors, writing and invoicing funding applications, conception & collaboration on the trailer film shoot, press work, flyer and poster design, communication with arriving participants regarding accommodation, distributing flyers and posters.

During the film workshop, tasks in the larger team: registration of participants, database management, distribution and checking of film equipment, beverage sales, assistance with film projects, documentation of the event on photos and videos, maintaining security and order on site, purchasing catering, driving services, inventory, technical support for screenings in the cinema, event organization, project management, fundraising, support, film production, film practice, responsibility, festival experience, international networking, location scouting.

Work meetings (3 - 6 h) are from May to August approx. 2 x per month, each with homework and research for the next meeting + 1 movie night per month in the cinema. In summer, the trailer is filmed on a weekend.

From September 09 - 22 is the event period (a shift schedule will be worked out.)

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Project organization & management, social skills, friendliness, punctuality, good manners, youthfulness, ability to work in a team, sense of responsibility. Experience with digital video cameras and photo cameras as well as microphones, recorders, tripods, film lights, editing software and computers etc. is desirable and will be deepened. Previous internships at film productions (assistant director and production assistant), advertising, festivals or film technology rentals as well as first own completed film projects would also be fine. Film students are just as welcome as career changers from the independent film scene with enough time // A passion for art & non-commercial short film would be very important, as well as stress resistance, enthusiasm and a cheerful nature. // Reliability, honesty and sobriety are however essential. ++ Desirable in the team would be talents in the areas of: Graphic and web design & layout, finding sponsors, film technology, moderation, management, photography, social media networks, press relations, acting, production, copywriting. //

Other. Knowledge: Handling digital film technology. --- Social media marketing is mandatory on a weekly basis ---
Driving license is not required (but would be an advantage).

We are flexible in the preparation phase, but ask for reliability.
During the film workshop, helpers should be readily available from September 10 - 22.
