About the volunteering opportunity
You support us together with other volunteers in the implementation of our program YAM - Youth Aware of Mental Health to strengthen the mental health of students (13 - 17 years) at schools in Munich & area. YAM is led by two trained volunteers, one of whom has undergone a week of training with certification as a YAM course leader and the second a one-day training course as a YAM course assistant.
The aims of YAM are to strengthen the mental health of young people and their awareness of the topic. YAM has also been shown to reduce serious suicidal thoughts and attempts by 50% and to reduce new cases of depression by 30%. In addition, YAM has a destigmatizing effect and promotes cohesion among peers.

Together with others, you will support us in running the program YAM for students aged 13 to 17, at schools in Munich & area. The YAM course assistant supports the YAM course leader in the implementation of the YAM courses, e.g. in the preparation and follow-up of the individual units. YAM course assistants play a central role in class management, involving all young people and if students leave the classroom.
