Counselor for exchange students and host families in Stuttgart

For our exchange students from Colombia and the USA, who are between 14 and 18 years old, we are looking for volunteers to support the students and their host families and to act as contact persons. Every year about 70 exchange students come to Germany with Partnership International e.V. and live with their host families. As a supervisor you can get to know a new culture and show your very personal Germany to your exchange students.

Your Tasks

- You are in regular contact with your exchange student and the host family (by phone and/or e-mail) - You can visit your exchange student in his/her host family and help him/her settle in Germany - You should help with any communication difficulties - You can take your exchange student on excursions and show him/her his/her new home.

What's needed

We would be pleased if you could bring the following skills with you: - Experience in dealing with young people - Intercultural skills - Interest in other cultures - Spanish and English language skills. Please note: In order to work as a supervisor Partnership International e.V., you would first have to become a member of our association. This is necessary so that you can submit your expense reports to us (for example for travel expenses), represent our values and feel that you belong to the goals of our association.

Important notice

Every October, our supervisor seminar takes place in Cologne, where we prepare you optimally for your tasks. 

If you are unable to attend the seminar or have missed it, you still have the opportunity to become active as a supervisor. Together with an experienced mentor you can take over the supervision and attend the seminar afterwards or we can arrange a personal "training session" in which you will learn all important information.

We are a non-profit association for international meetings and exchange programs and look after students who live abroad for a few weeks or several months and go to school there. We exclusively offer exchange programmes to English-speaking countries and also look after students who spend a student exchange in Germany with us.
