As a DigitalAid Coach, you support refugees in coping with their increasingly digital everyday lives. Some people have difficulties organising their lives digitally. During the pandemic they are for example excluded from digital learning opportunities. As DigitalAid Coaches, you help to close these knowledge gaps and empower people to navigate their increasingly digital everyday lives.
As a digital coach, you can help with the following digital challenges:
- communicating by email, e.g. with an (public)office
- Zoom and other video communication tools
- Online job platforms
- Making online appointments with public institutions
- Using search engines
- Using language learning apps
- Using home schooling programs
- Using other learning portals for children and adults
- Optimising the use of digital devices
- Backing up important data
- Sending PDFs
Volunteers are trained by ArrivalAid and prepared for their assignments as Digital Aid coaches.
A coaching session lasts from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the needs. You should have about 2 hours per week for the commitment.
Of course, you should be fit in the use of common Microsoft programs and be proficient in the use of online tools such as Zoom. Basically, you don't need any special qualifications to become an online coach. If you are confident in the tasks described above, anyone can become active with us.

ArrivalAid is a not-for-profit organisation for the support of refugees. In several independent projects - the ArrivalAid Hearing and Complaint Support, ArrivalAid Integration Support, ArrivalAid Jobs&Careers, ArrivalNews, ArrivalAid Job Mentoring, ArrivalAid Academy - our qualified volunteers help new citizens with their various integration steps.
